THE Edinburgh film festival, which comes to a close this weekend, is likely to have higher footfall than last year, its director has revealed.
Chris Fujiwara, artistic director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF), said audience reaction to this year's festival had"gone great" and he expects an increase in admissions compared to 2013.
Last year the 67th EIFF issued more than 44,000 tickets across the 12 day festival, which itself was a 10 per cent increase on 2012.
The festival, which this week has welcomed guests such as actors Elijah Wood, and tomorrow, Gérard Depardieu, closes on Sunday with the romantic comedy We'll Never Have Paris.
The EIFF is still the biggest film festival in Scotland, although the Glasgow Film Festival is catching up in numbers of admissions - it reached 40,000 this year.
