EX-PATS Peter Fraser and Gordon Stevenson toast their marriage overlooking the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge after becoming the first couple to tie the knot in a British Consulate.

The pair, dressed in kilts for the historic occasion, live together in Australia, where civil partnerships are allowed but same-sex marriages are banned - so their union will not be recognised outside the consulate.

Mr Fraser, originally from Cornwall, and Mr Stevenson, who was born in Scotland, said they were "proud and privileged".
