Three people have been arrested after police seized £175,000 of drugs.

Officers from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit recovered drugs and cash during an intelligence-led operation in Lanarkshire on Thursday.

They seized heroin from a vehicle which they stopped and searched on Craigneuk Street in Wishaw at around 12.45pm that day.

They then searched several properties in the Laurel Drive area, where they recovered amphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and mixing agent.

The estimated street value of the drugs recovered is £175,000. Officers also seized a four-figure sum of cash.

Police Scotland said two men aged 44 and 45 and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the recoveries.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
