An exhibition of 50 portrait miniatures from the Buccleuch Collection, including some never seen before, has been opened by the Duke of Buccleuch at his Selkirk seat, Bowhill House.

The collection - co-curated by the Duke and Dr Stephen Lloyd, former senior curator of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery - will be exhibited at Bowhill from July 1 to 31.

Included in the display are an unfinished portrait of Oliver Cromwell by Samuel Cooper and examples of the art form dating back to the 1520s.
