A FARMER has spent an estimated £55,000 importing a flock of Swiss sheep to Scotland -- before bringing in CCTV and guard dogs to protect them.

Raymond Irvine, pictured with his girlfriend Jenni McAllister, paid the sum for 11 Valais Blacknose sheep and spent thousands more on transportation and vet bills.

Dubbed the world's cutest sheep, they are only found in Switzerland. Mr Irvine, of Tomintoul, Moray, bought 10 ewes and show-winning ram King Kong, making it the first herd north of the Border.
