A JIHADIST who sparked speculation that a 26-year-old from Aberdeen had been killed in Iraq while fighting for the terror group Isis has said reports of the death are wrong.

It emerged last month that Abdul Rakib Amin had appeared in a recruitment video for Isis.

Another British fighter in Iraq, 19-year-old Muhammad Hassan from Portsmouth, caused speculation that Amin had been killed after he posted on Twitter that a UK-born volunteer named Abul Baraa had been killed by Iraqi special forces. Abul Baraa is similar to the alias Abu Bara al Hindi used by Amin in the video.

However, responding to a query on his Ask.fm account, Mr Hassan said that the killed fighter he had referred to was a "different brother".
