MHAIRI McDougall, 15, introduces a pair of Clydesdale horses, Mairi and Anna, to the Kelpies based at the National Museum of Rural Life.

More than 150 horses will assemble at the visitor attraction in East Kilbride on Sunday for the Heavy Horse Show. The miniature models of the Helix Kelpies, that stand beside the Forth and Clyde Canal, will take centre stage at the show. There will also be children's craft sessions and pony rides.

Shirley Maciver, from the museum, said: "The Heavy Horse Show is a great day out, with plenty to see and do for the whole family.

"We're excited to have the Helix Kelpie models on display, and to show off the newest member of our family, Anna, who joins our other Clydesdale, Mairi, already a familiar face at the show.

"We're looking forward to welcoming a great crowd."
