Police are hunting thieves who struck at a harbour and made off with live lobsters worth more than £800.

Three moored vessels were targeted at Wick harbour and a haul weighing more than 150lb was stolen.

Police were examining CCTV footage of the area in the hunt for clues for the culprits, who carried out the raid between noon on Friday and noon on Sunday.

Albert Ritchie of the Scottish Creel Fishermen's Federation said the culprits will have had a buyer already identified and a deal set up to dispose of the lobsters which were "stolen to order."
