Gymnast Daniel Keatings picked up his third medal of Glasgow's Games today when he took gold in the pommel horse final at The Hydro.

Keatings scored a huge 16.058 to pip England's Max Whitlock and secure his first visit to the top step of the podium and add to his earlier double silver medal haul in the team and individual all-around competition.

It makes Keatings Scotland's most successful ever gymnast in Commonwealth Games history.

Still at the Hydro, Dan Purvis claimed one more medal to the gymnastics team taking bronze in the rings.

At Hampen Park, Eilidh Child finished second in the 400m hurdles adding another silver to Team Scotland.

Scotland's overall medal tally climbed to 43 on Day 8 of the event when Alex Gladkov took bronze in the men's 65Kg category at the SECC.
