Three grandchildren of a man who died after he was hit by a car, including a little boy he did not live to see, have been awarded a total of £48,000 damages.
Relatives of Aberdeen guest house proprietor Russell Stuart sued driver Amanda Reid and her insurers following the collision at the city's Beach Boulevard on May 6, 2011.
Mr Russell, 60, was struck by Ms Reid's car as he stood at the back of his own vehicle to let out his dogs for a walk. He died three days later.
Liability was admitted in the action and claims made by Mr Stuart's widow Marilyn and three adult children were settled.
Lawyers acting for both sides could not agree terms over claims made on behalf of his three grandchildren, girls who were five and three at the time of his death and his grandson who was born five months later.
But following a hearing at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, Lord Woolman awarded the oldest child £18,000, the other granddaughter £16,000 and the boy £14,000.
