A BODY found in a flat has been identified as the remains of a young woman who was last seen more than two weeks ago.

Charlene Lever, 21, vanished from her home in Port Glasgow where she was last seen by a member of her family on Thursday, July 17.

Police Scotland have now confirmed the body of a woman found in a property in Clune Park Street, Port Glasgow, at 8.30pm on Thursday, July 30, as Ms Lever.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and police are treating her death as suspicious.

Relatives have been informed and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Charlene's father William and grandfather Tommy were being comforted by friends.

A message on flowers left at the scene described her as "one in a million".
