THE journalist dubbed "the lone wolf of Fleet Street", Chapman Pincher, has died at the age of 100.
The former Daily Express journalist, who revealed many military secrets during his years as defence correspondent, died of "old age", his son Michael Chapman Pincher said in a post on his Facebook page.
Mr Pincher revealed that his father's last joke was "Tell them I'm out of scoops". He added that his father faced death with "no regrets, no fear and no expectation".
Pincher wrote several books on espionage, including Their Trade is Treachery in 1981, which publicised his suspicions that former MI5 Director General Roger Hollis had been a spy for the Soviet Union.
