THE new Queensferry Crossing has reached a significant milestone, transport chiefs have said.

All three of its towers have now reached deck level as construction continues at the bridge over the River Forth and Lovat Turnbull is pictured with grandson Logan enjoying the view from the Fife side.

Transport Scotland said the bridge is being built on time and under its budget of £1.4-£1.45 billion, down from £1.45-£1.60 billion in 2011. Transport Minister Keith Brown visited the Queensferry Crossing to see the progress.

He said: "The progress being made by the men and women building the new bridge is truly impressive.
