SANTA might wonder what his reindeer get up to in the summer - but as this picture shows they seem to like chilling out in the Cairngorms.
With four months to go until Christmas, the herd found one of the few patches of year-round snow in the mountains. Wildlife photographer Andy Howard was delighted when he came across the relaxing reindeer during a hike. Andy, 43, who lives near Inverness, said: "I stumbled across the herd who were making use of one of the large patches of snow left over from last winter to cool off."
