A HOST of celebrities will take part in a charity golf event to raise money for cancer charity Maggie's.

Actors Sir Kenneth Branagh, Philip Glenister and Tom Ellis will all tee off at Golspie Golf Club, Sutherland, next month.

The event, on September 20, is being organised by Golspie-born actor Jimmy Yuill, who has appeared in the television shows Hamish Macbeth and EastEnders, after he experienced first-hand the care that Maggie's offers.

He said: "Maggie's offers a haven of warmth and peace, as well as giving information and practical support, not just to people with cancer but also to those who love and care for them.

"I am delighted to be able to say thank you to Maggie's Highlands for the vital help they offer."

The 18-hole contest will be played by 24 teams, each including a celebrity.

After the golf, there will also be an auction, dance, dinner and entertainment.
