SINGER Lily Allen will headline the Edinburgh's Hogmanay Concert in the Gardens this year.
Organisers Unique Events announced that the headline show will cap the comeback year for the singer and will be the final show of her 2014 world tour.
After a self-imposed "retirement" from the music industry, 2014 has been a triumphant return to the top, producing her second Number One album, Sheezus, and a summer of performances and headline appearances at the UK's biggest music festivals including Glastonbury.
Allen has said: "I've always wanted to spend Hogmanay in Scotland so the fact that I get to do it this year but performing onstage in front of a whole load of people up for the best time makes it extra special.
"I can't wait"
Lily Allen at the Concert in the Gardens includes special guests to be announced, set beneath the dramatic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and the Midnight Fireworks, broadcast around the world and showcasing Edinburgh's Hogmanay as one of the biggest and best New Year parties on the planet.

Last year audiences of over 130,000 joined the celebrations,
Steve Cardownie, festivals and events champion for the Edinburgh City Council, said: "Edinburgh's Hogmanay has long been the envy of cities across the globe and the celebrations to bring in the start 2015 are set to be no exception. Headliner Lily Allen is sure to be a big hit with revellers, and coupled with an absolutely spectacular fireworks display, we are aiming to yet again bring together and entertain thousands of people as the capital brings in the bells."

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
