The oil and gas industry chaplaincy has organised special services and a new memorial to mark the first anniversary of the Shetland helicopter tragedy.

George Allison, Sarah Darnley, Gary McCrossan and Duncan Munro died after the Super Puma they were travelling on from a North Sea platform came down in the sea on approach to Sumburgh Airport on August 23 last year.

Reverend Gordon Craig, is to conduct remembrance services offshore at the Alwyn, Dunbar and Borgsten Dolphin platforms tomorrow. On the same day, a new plaque is to be put in place for victims of air accidents in and around Shetland. The Rev Craig said he believed the people of Aberdeen would wish to share their thoughts with those of the victims and the bereaved at this "extremely difficult" time.
