HUNDREDS of motorcyclists will converge on the Borders this weekend in memory of former superbike champion Steve Hislop.

In a change of route, the 12th annual Steve Hislop Memorial Run will start for the first time from his home village of Denholm on Sunday at 10am.

Bikers from all over Britain including the Isle of Man and Ireland will travel in convoy over the Carter Bar into England and come back over the border at Cornhill-on-Tweed before heading back to Denholm for 2.30pm.

Proceeds from a collection will go to the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance. The 41-year-old won the Isle of Man TT 11 times as well as the British Superbike Championship in 1995 and 2002. He died in a helicopter crash near Hawick in 2003.
