A BODY has been found in the search for a man missing on Loch Lomond.

Emergency services were alerted at around 8pm on Friday after a report that a man had fallen into water near Rowardennan on the east shores of the loch. The man, thought to be in his mid-60s, had been out fishing.

Police Scotland divers discovered the body near Rowardennan pier at around 1pm yesterday. Inspector Adrian Wright said: "Police divers have sadly recovered a body from the water and we will now follow the process of confirming the identity of the body."

Police said efforts to trace the man's family are ongoing.
