A COLLECTION of rare cricket books owned by Tony Hancock's showbusiness agent brother Roger is expected to sell for a six-figure sum when it is sold later this year.

He started collecting the books, some of which date back more than 200 years, in the 1970s and experts have valued the collection at £400,000.

Hancock, whose showbusiness agency counted his own brother and the Monty Python team among its clients, died in 2011.

Among the lots offered for auction at Christie's are two copies of the rare 1869 edition of Wisden, which are valued at £15,000 each, and scorebooks dating back to 1800, which are expected to fetch £25,000 each.
