The operators of a Scottish ski chairlift at the centre of an accident which left eight people - including three children - injured will not be facing prosecution.

The incident happened at the Lecht Ski Centre, at Corgarff in Aberdeenshire, in February last year.

The Health and Safety Executive said it did not intend to recommend court action over the incident in which a mechanism became damaged, causing the chairs to come off the cables.

The HSE reported that the chair-lift had been appropriately inspected and maintained prior to the collapse.
