A MAN accused of kidnapping and raping a woman in Glasgow almost a decade ago has agreed to be extradited following his arrest in Spain.

The man, identified only as having the initials N.V.K.B. and Pakistani nationality, was detained last weekend on an international warrant issued in Scotland.

He is alleged to have kidnapped a woman and raped her twice on August 28, 2005.

Following his arrest he was taken to Madrid and appeared at the National Criminal Court. When he was asked by the investigating judge if he was prepared to return to the UK to face British justice, he replied he would not fight extradition.

He is due to be escorted to Britain within a matter of days.
