ORGANISERS of the Ryder Cup have drawn up detailed travel plans to deal with the thousands of spectators expected to flock to the event later this month.

Twin temporary footbridges will be installed over the A9 at Gleneagles to allow spectators arriving at Gleneagles train station to access the golf course.

Those arriving by car will be directed by 17 glowing electronic portable variable message signs placed at strategic locations to keep congestion to a minimum.

Each sign will be used to provide motorists with key directions and advanced information.

They can be changed at short notice.
