A week-long music programme open to young women aged 8-16 from the Greater Glasgow area will launch this summer at the Glasgow School of Art Students' Association.

Rock 'n' Roll Summer School for Girls Glasgow is based on a similar programme in Portland and seeks to promote feminism in young women, improve confidence and camaraderie, and help participants find their voice through music education.

The programme will teach students how to learn an instrument and provide a supportive atmosphere in which to practice with a band, as well as giving advice on how to perform live.

The summer school will be run by volunteers and is currently seeking instructors and instruments. It will run 13 - 18 July 2015.
