GLASGOW City Council staff have been evacuated after a potentially toxic material was discovered in some offices.
Members of the council's education and social work teams - around 13 offices in total - are being moved out of the east building of the City Chambers after the substance naphthalene was discovered.
They are being relocated to Commonwealth House in Albion Street while further investigation gets underway.
It is thought the staff members will be based at the Commonwealth building, which was used for Glasgow 2014 staff, for several weeks.
Some were moved to other City Chambers offices last week.
It is understood that an unpleasant smell prompted investigations.
A spokesman said: "A number of staff are being relocated until further work can be carried out.
"This will ensure they have a suitable working environment and minimise any disruption to services."
