A gallery and arts consultancy at Temple, Midlothian called Lust and the Apple has unveiled its Edinburgh festival shows. The gallery will show work by Lawrence Weiner, Cisco Jimenez, Putput and Malcolm and Leel, from Korea.
Weiner has created a site-specific work for the garden at Lust and The Apple. The new work is to be installed on one of the dry stone dyke walls in the garden of the gallery.
Putput are a duo, Stefan Friedli and Ulrik Martin Larsen, and are currently based in Copenhagen. For their first exhibition in Scotland the Danish duo are exhibiting in the newly installed Greenhouse at Lust and The Apple. A series of faux tools and vegetation created from unusual objects will celebrate the end of summer.
Malcolm and Leel are young emerging artists from Korea who have been based in Scotland for the last few years.
The exhibitions open on August 1 and run until October 18.

The Tidelines Book Festival is to bring writers such as Ann Cleeves, Andrew O’Hagan and others to North Ayrshire in September.
The 2015 festival will run from September 11 to 15 and will see fifteen public events staged in both Largs and Irvine as well as a schools programme.
As in previous years, several of the events will include a buffet as well as author performances, making for a great night out. One of the highlights of the year will be the opening event with the author of the Shetland and Vera crime series, Ann Cleeves (pictured).
Andrew O’Hagan, who grew up in Kilwinning, will be speaking at an event run in association with Irvine Burns Club, talking about his latest novel, The Illuminations.
The full programme is now available and tickets are also now on sale.

The new music video, a collaboration between acclaimed songwriter Kathryn Joseph and Scottish Ballet, has marked the launch of Scottish Ballet Creative, an outlet for artistic projects "exploring the relationship between camera, dance and digital media."
Scottish Ballet worked with Joseph on her single, The Bird.
The Bird, directed by Scottish Ballet filmmaker and graphic designer Eve McConnachie, uses the skills of dancer/choreographer Sophie Laplane, and features Laplane performing her own work.
Singer/songwriter Joseph won the Scottish Album of the Year Award in June for her debut album Bones You Have Thrown Me And Blood I’ve Spilled. This is her first single release from the album.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
