POP star Taylor Swift is said to have set her sights on buying a Scottish Castle in a multi-million pound deal.

The singing sensation, who has a string of hits to her name, is rumoured to be negotiating over the sale if 16th Century Tower of Lethendy, which is north of Perth.

The 25-year-old is in a relationship with Scots DJ and record producer Calvin Harris, and she reportedly wants a Scottish base to be nearer to him and his family in Edinburgh.

Swift and Harris met at the Brit Awards in February and revealed their relationship in April.

Lethendy Castle dates back to 1570 and the estate boasts its own 18-hole golf course, heated swimming pool and tennis courts.

Selling agent Savills is asking for offers over £4.6 million for the property. This asking price, however, would not daunt Taylor who spent a larger sum on her apartment in New York.

The historic castle, which was renovated 20 years ago, is B-Listed and dates back to 1570.

Built from red sandstone, the eight bedroom property boasts its own 18-hole golf course, heated swimming pool and tennis court.

It is currently owned by a Canadian family, and is available for rent as an upmarket holiday home and wedding venue.
