Kosmos Ensemble, the chamber music group with no borders, returns to Scotland this week for a series of concerts.

The group, which comprises violinist Harriet Mackenzie, violist Meg Hamilton and accordionist Miloš Milivojevi?, who recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing playing a tango, appears at Ross Priory, Gartocharn on Friday, October 30; Ardkinglass House, Argyll on Sunday, November 1; Soundhouse @ The Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh on Monday, November 2, Eastgate Theatre, Peebles on Tuesday, November 3; and Mill Cafeteria, New Lanark on Friday, November 13.

The tenor Andrew Kennedy, pictured, will be the star of a concert to raise funds for the restoration of Scotland's oldest concert hall.

Kennedy, who was winner of the Song Prize in BBC's Cardiff Singer of the World in 2005, will sing a selection of 17th and 18th music by Purcell, Draghi, Eccles, Keller and Smith. He will be accompanied by Susanna Pell on bass viol and James Akers on theorbo .

The concert at Greyfriars' Kirk in Edinburgh tomorrow evening will raise funds for the University of Edinburgh's £6.5m restoration of St Cecilia's Hall.

Tickets are from £10-20 and are available from the University of Edinburgh's website or on the door.

Donegal sisters The Henry Girls return to Scotland next month for three concerts following their third highly successful American tour. The trio, whose close harmony vocals and multi-instrumental mastery have made a big impression at Glastonbury and Celtic Connections, also recently toured Germany where they have a huge following. They play a house concert in Edinburgh on Thursday, November 5; Kilbarchan Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, November 7; and Howden Park Arts Centre, Livingston on Sunday, November 8. thehenrygirls.com

Borders-born singer Kirsty Law, pictured, opens Glasgow’s Star Folk Club’s November programme on Tuesday, November 3 when she appears at the club’s home, the Admiral Bar in Waterloo Street. Law will be accompanied by BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2012, fiddler Rona Wilkie and låtmandola player Marit Fält, a duo in their own right who released their first, well-received album, Turas, in 2014. Also appearing at the club during November are Canadian singer-songwriter Maria Dunn (10th), County Down troubadour Matt McGinn (17th), and the Quiggs, featuring former McCalmans singer and guitarist Stephen Quigg and his wife, Pernille (24th). All gigs begin at 8pm.
