The hotel where Jeremy Clarkson was involved in the 'fracas' that ended his Top Gear career has been sent a plaque commemorating the event.

The BBC decided not to renew Clarkson's contract after he had a 'fracas' with producer Oisin Tymon at the Simonstone Hall hotel.

The hotel has now been sent a plaque which reads: "Here lies the BBC career of Jeremy Clarkson. Who had a fracas on this spot 4th March 2015. The rest is legend."

The Herald:

In a Facebook post the hotel said: "We were presented with this plaque from one of our guests last night! We think it would be quite appropriate to put it on the patio where the fracas took place!!"

It is unclear who donated the plaque to the hotel.
