An investigation is under way following an alleged incident at an after-school club in Aberdeen.

A member of staff has been suspended amid the inquiries.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland is investigating an incident at the after-school club.

"Inquiries are at an early stage. We are working with partners including the Care Inspectorate, Aberdeen City Council and the owner."

A spokesman for the Care Inspectorate said: "The club have notified us of an incident at the after-school club.

"The care service has taken the appropriate action and contacted relevant agencies. We are working closely with Police Scotland and the service to ensure that all children are safe.
