A schoolboy has been questioned by police over a bomb threat which forced the closure of two schools.

The Hewett Academy and Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form college, both in Norwich, sent pupils home early after reports of a suspected bomb just after midday on Thursday.

Both premises were evacuated and further inquiries established the incident was a hoax, Norfolk Police said.

A 14-year-old boy, who voluntarily attended one of the force's investigation centres on Saturday, has now been questioned in connection with the incident.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
