If you Google 'subsequently' you may get a surprise.

Using it in a sentence, Google has referenced the Independence Referendum stating that the definition is:

"after a particular thing has happened; afterwards.

'many of the Scots who voted for Union subsequently changed their minds'"

Director of Left Scotland, Stephen Paton, took to Twitter to share his find:

We've got a feeling that those who voted No in the Independence Referendum won't be too happy about Google's definition.
