Andy Murray has confirmed that he will attend this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards after missing the 2013 ceremony.

Murray, who has been nominated for the award alongside Jessica Ennis, Tyson Fury and Greg Rutherford, missed the 2012 ceremony because of training commitments and failed to attend again the following year when he won the award.

However, the Dunblane man has vowed to take a break from his training to attend the ceremony in Belfast on Sunday.

Murray, who won the Davis Cup with the Great British team last month, is favourite to take the title this year.

Other nominees include Lizzie Armitstead, Lucy Bronze, Mo Farah, Chris Froome, Lewis Hamilton, Adam Peaty, Kevin Sinfield and Max Whitlock.
