An elderly man has been reported to prosecutors over an alleged sexual assault on a woman in a care home.
Police were called to the care home in Argyll and Bute at the end of January over the alleged incident involving a 76-year-old woman.
An 82-year-old man, understood to have been a visitor to the home, has now been reported to the procurator fiscal.
The Care Inspectorate, which regulates the care-home sector, said it was working with police and monitoring the situation.
The home, which cares for residents over the age of 65 with dementia, is run by Church of Scotland body CrossReach.
A Church of Scotland spokesman said: "We reported the matter to Police Scotland and the social work department.
"It would be inappropriate to make any further comment while investigations are continuing."
A police spokesman said: "An 82-year-old man is subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with alleged sexual offences."
The Care Inspectorate said the care and well-being of residents is its top priority.
"We have been notified of an allegation of a serious incident at this service and are working closely with colleagues at Police Scotland and other partners," a spokesman said.
"We are being kept fully informed and are monitoring this care home closely.
"The safety and well-being of anyone who accesses care is always our first priority.
"Everyone has the right to safe, compassionate care which meets their needs and respects their rights.

"We take all issues raised with us very seriously and we use that intelligence to help us plan and support our inspections."
