Police in the Scottish Borders are appealing for information to help trace a man reported missing in Melrose.

Terence Van Putten from Galashiels was last seen in Melrose at 7.15 PM on February 11, where it is believed he boarded an X62 Bus.

However the 44-year-old has not been seen or heard from since and concern is now growing for his welfare.

Anyone who can assist in locating Terence is asked to contact police immediately.

Inspector Kevin Harris of Melrose Police Station said: "We are keen to establish Terence's whereabouts as soon as possible and anyone who believes they have seen him since Thursday is asked to please get in touch.

"In addition, we would ask Terence himself to get in touch with friends, family or police and let us know you are safe and well."

He is described as white in appearance, 6ft tall, of slim build with light brown hair and with a goatee-style beard.

He was wearing a blue t-shirt under a red checked shirt, dark-coloured jeans, black training shoes, a dark waterproof jacket and what is described as a fisherman's hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
