POLICE investigating the death of a young man are to return to the Ayrshire nightclub where he was involved in a fight just hours before he was found dead, in an attempt to track down witnesses.

The body of Robert Fleming, 21, was discovered at his home in Lammermuir Road, Kilmarnock, at around 2pm on Sunday 7 February.

The man was involved in an argument outside Baker's nightclub in John Finnie Street in the East Ayrshire town at around 1am last Sunday, according to police. He then made his way home where he was later found dead.

Officers now plan to question clubbers visiting the club over the weekend in a bid find more information about the fight and gain insight into his final hours.

Detective Chief Inspector Allan Burton said: "A young man has lost his life and it is of the utmost importance that we establish exactly what happened and get answers for Robert's family.

"Officers have viewed the CCTV and it is critical we identify the people who were outside Baker's during this incident.

"To do this we need to speak to anyone who was at this location last Saturday night to assess if they have information that could assist with our investigation.

"It is critical that we speak to absolutely everyone to ensure that we have the full picture of the circumstances."
