Police searching for a teenage girl missing for more than two days have appealed for information to trace her.

Chloe Allan, 14, was last seen in the Mill O Mains area of Dundee at 5pm on Friday.

She is described as 5ft 5ins, large build with black hair.

She was last seen wearing a navy and white striped t-shirt and light blue jeans.

Meanwhile, police in Edinburgh are appealing for help to find young mother Shelly Paterson who was last seen at around 5:40pm on Saturday leaving an address in Calder Park in the west of the city.

The Herald:

The 23-year-old has not been in touch with friends or family and police are now growing concerned for her welfare.

She is described as 5ft 3ins, medium build with purple hair that is often tied back in a ponytail. She normally wears dark-rimmed glasses and has tattoos of a distinctive purple flower on the back of her neck as well as the name 'Danny' written on her left arm.

At the time of her disappearance she had been wearing a black and blue jacket with a white fur collar, black jeans, black shoes and carrying a black shoulder bag with a gold buckle.

Inspector Graeme Dignan said: "It is out of character for Shelly to go missing and we are anxious to trace her safe and well as quickly as possible.

"Today I'm urging anyone who has seen or may have spoken with her to please get in touch with police.

"Shelly has a young son and is a devoted and loving mother. It is extremely unusual for her to leave without informing anyone and her family are extremely concerned for her."

He said officers wanted to piece together her movements and have published a CCTV image showing her moments after leaving the address in Calder Park.

"I also appeal directly to Shelly to please make contact either with police or your family to let us know that you are safe," he added.

Police said inquiries have revealed Shelly may have used public transport to travel to the South Lanarkshire area and officers asked anyone who believe they may have seen her to contact police immediately.
