THE Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston sparked further speculation that he could be named as the next James Bond when he was reportedly seen meeting the franchise's producer and director.

Hiddleston was said to have been spotted with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes at London's Soho House members' club, according to The Mirror.

The meeting comes a week after he told The Graham Norton Show that nobody had spoken to him about the chance to replace Daniel Craig in the coveted role.

He said: "The position isn't vacant as far as I'm aware. No-one has talked to me about it.

"I think the rumours have come about because in The Night Manager I play a spy and people have made the link."

Craig took on the role of 007 in 2005's Casino Royale and has made four Bond films.

He prompted rumours that his most recent outing, Spectre, could be his last when he joked that he would rather "slash my wrists" than make a fifth movie.

He said: "I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."

However, in the same interview with Time Out magazine, he added a caveat, saying this would be his view for "at least a year or two".

A spokesman for Hiddleston confirmed to the paper that the actor was at Soho House but denied he had met Broccoli or Mendes, adding: "He was there with one of his non-industry friends."
