Odeon and UCI Cinemas plans to open 20 state-of-the-art cinemas across Europe, including eight in the UK, over the next four years. The group said the move will create around 650 new jobs. Details of the expansion came as it said underlying earnings rose 22% to £30.7 million in the first quarter - its best performance for six years, helped by box office hits including Marvel Comics adaptation Deadpool.
