PRIMARY school kids in Clydebank have been evacuated after a bomb scare.

Pupils from St Stephen's Primary school in Dalmuir were evacuated this morning after an alarm was raised.

Youngsters are understood to have been evacuated to a nearby church but have since been allowed to return to the school.

Police and fire crews attended after the suspected bomb hoax was reported, following a number of similar incidents across the country last week.

Other schools in Scotland are understood to have been targeted today.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 10.17am, we received an automated alarm call from the school.

"Two crews were sent from Clydebank First Station and they arrived within five minutes. The building was evacuated and everyone has been accounted for."
