A CLASSIC pose from comedy actors Jack Milroy and Rikki Fulton appearing as Glasgow wide-boys Francie and Josie. The duo were created on The Five Past Eight Show at Glasgow's Alhambra Theatre but went on to great acclaim in their own Scottish Television series in the early sixties from which this picture comes. In this sketch they are buying suits in a gentleman;s outfitters, and the eagle-eyed amongst you will spot that Glen Michael, who went on to make the long-running children's cartoon show Glen Michael's Cavalcade is in the background as the shop assistant.

Glen was a regular performer in the Francie and Josie show in a series of different guises. with them is actor Douglas Murchie, dressed as a Teddy Boy.

Jack played Francie as the dimmer of the two. Rikki played Josie as the brighter one who had pretensions of being better educated but would usually tie himself in linguistic knots.

They even had an album released with a series of comedy songs including one entitled The Glasgow Underground which consisted mainly of them rhyming off the names of the 15 Underground stations. The tune will be stuck in my head all day now.
