She was arrested and taken to a police station after convicted wife-beater
Mitchell made a complaint following a row.

Ms McGuire, of Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire, yesterday appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court where she denied one charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by contacting Mitchell and his girlfriend Lana Hunter by telephone.

She is alleged to have shouted and swore and made abusive remarks and threats of violence.

Her lawyer Andy Thompson said evidence in the case from the Crown had not yet been made available and he asked for a further preliminary hearing to be granted.

He also said another hearing was needed because Ms McGuire’s main lawyer, Paul Reid, may not be available to conduct the trial due to other commitments.

Sheriff Vincent Smith granted the application and Ms McGuire is due to stand trial at the end of July.

As part of her bail conditions she is banned from contacting Mitchell and Ms Hunter.

Ms McGuire, who is currently a DJ for online radio station GO, attended court with her new fiance, construction firm boss Kevin Irvine.

In November 2014, Mitchell, 37, was convicted of a string of domestic assaults against Ms McGuire.
