A man has been charged in connection with an industrial accident that led to a teenager's death.

Michael McLean, 17, was injured while working at oil services firm Denholm MacNamee in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, last August and later died in hospital.

Police Scotland launched an investigation in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

A force statement said: "Police can confirm that a 21-year-old man has been charged in relation to an industrial incident which resulted in the death of Michael McLean at Denholm MacNamee, Inverurie, on August 14 last year.

"A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal."
