Police are treating the death of a 45-year-old man in North Ayrshire as suspicious.

The man was found at the Moorpark industrial estate in Stevenston at about midday on Monday after emergency services received a report that a man had been injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police and emergency services responded to a report of a 45-year-old man having being injured in the Moorpark industrial estate in Stevenston.

"The man was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.

"A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death, which is being treated as suspicious.

"Enquires are at an early stage, however detectives are following a positive line of enquiry."
