A FRENCH teacher has been struck off after complaints that she had slept with a teenage pupil on his prom night.

Isabelle Graham, a former teacher at Whitburn Academy in West Lothian, denied having sex with a 17-year-old pupil in an Edinburgh Travelodge after the event in June 2014.

The 28-year-old claimed she had her drink spiked and that she was a devout Christian who had saved herself for her wedding night.

A General Teaching Council for Scotland hearing was shown a photograph of a room with Mrs Graham apparently in bed with the pupil near the door.

She is alleged to have spent three hours alone with the teenager, drinking with him, sharing a bed and “repeatedly engaging in sexual activity”.

In a statement read to the hearing, Mrs Graham claimed she had been “the victim” on the night and had no recollection of events.

She added that if the photo was of her, it was “posed” without her consent.

She added: “The person in the bed in the photo is clearly not in control of the situation.”

However, the General Teaching Council panel declared the former teacher was unfit to teach and has barred her from the profession.
