What is it?

A stylish cycling jacket with built-in lights for safety on urban streets. With the nights fair drawing in and autumn upon us, it is time to mothball that summer wardrobe for another year.

Most people associate cycling attire with Lycra or retina-searing luminous coloured waterproofs but a commuting revolution has shifted that paradigm. It's now possible to wear cycling specific clothing throughout the day without enduring a slew of Mamil jokes.

Good Points?

This modern take on a classic design is appealing to bike aficionados and hipsters alike. The material is lightweight providing comfort but also adequate protection from the elements. A white on red polka-dot trim is enough of a subtle (inverse) nod to the Tour de France king of the mountains jersey to be cool.

A technical fabric keeps you cool and dry thanks to its wicking and water repelling properties. It behaves like any other jacket until you start to ride, then you notice how comfortable it is, stretching and supporting in all the right places. It has abundant pockets and a dropped hem to keep you covered on the bike.

The 14x4 Lumen LED interconnected lights that line the seams on the front and rear are powerful enough without making you feel like a Christmas tree on two wheels. The removable battery pack is no bigger or heavier than a small remote control and can be quickly charged via supplied USB cable.

Bad points?

The jacket is hand-wash only which isn't ideal for muddy winter commutes.

Best for ...

Those who value style and performance in equal measure.

Avoid if ...

You baulk at the thought of a jacket which costs as much as some bikes.
