SCOTTISH music star Calvin Harris has forked out almost £3 million on a mansion for his parents.

The chart-topping DJ’s mother Pamela and father David are reported to have moved out of their family home in Dumfries after getting the keys to a five-bedroom property in Somerset.

Harris hit the big time a decade ago after landing his first record deal. Now his own company, CH Music Ltd, has financed a £2.8m loan to pay for his parents’ dream home.

It’s believed they were keen to move south to be closer to his siblings. Sister Sophie, a marketing executive, also lives in Somerset and IT expert brother Edward lives in Oxford.

Former M&S shelf stacker Harris has an estimated £70m fortune and has previously told how he has always doted on his mother, who quit her job as an occupational therapist to become a full-time housewife.

The music producer, who has worked with top stars including Kylie, Rihanna and Cheryl Cole, bought a new vacuum cleaner for his mother with his first pay cheque from music as his career began to take off.

Harris, 32, has also joked about how his parents think his job is easy after he flew them out to Las Vegas to see him perform.

He said: “I took them to my gig at Hakkasan in the MGM. It was hilarious – my mum, my dad, my brother.

“My mum said, ‘It’s ridiculous. You get on this plane, fiddle about with the seats, joke around, play records and they pay you all this money’.”
