Rangers fans are facing accusations of vandalism after supporters appear to throw broken seats at Aberdeen fans during Sunday's league clash, in a video that has emerged online.

The short footage captures the moment an Aberdeen fan is hit on the head by a broken seat while cheering inside a stand in Pittodrie.

The man instantly clasps his head and ducks as another seat is thrown into the crowd.

The clip comes just hours after police confirmed they are investigating reports of vandalism on the Rangers team bus.

Graffiti referring to the 1971 Ibrox disaster and former player Ian Durrant was reportedly scratched into the coach paintwork outside a hotel in the early hours of Sunday, ahead of the league clash at Pittodrie.

The Glasgow side confirmed they reported the incident to police.

A Rangers spokesman said: "We are disgusted and disappointed by this act of vandalism.

"In particular, the reference to the Ibrox disaster in which 66 people lost their lives was particularly vile.

"This sort of behaviour has no place in civilised society.

"The incident was immediately reported to Police Scotland and we will assist them with their enquiries."

It is believed three arrests were made during Sunday's game.
