Police are appealing for witnesses after a 62-year-old woman was robbed at her home in Fife.

The incident happened at around 8.45am on Tuesday in the Alexander Street area of Kirkcaldy.

Jewellery and a money box containing a four-figure sum of cash was stolen.

One attacker, a man, is described as being aged about 40, 5ft 10in and of skinny build. He has a local accent and was wearing a blue hooded top.

The second attacker is shorter, skinny, spoke with a "squeaky" voice and was wearing a cream baseball cap.

Detective Sergeant Colin Potter said: "This has been a distressing incident for the resident.

"I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact the police."
