AN entrepreneur who runs a business chartering aircraft for celebrities and high wealth individuals is expanding her offer by launching a service that combines helicopter tours of Scotland with fine dining, writes Kevin Scott.

Scottish Heli-Dining, which launches this month, is a collaboration between Elena Torres’ company ExecAir’s helicopter charter service and a number of five star resorts, including the Old Course at St Andrews.

The service is the first in a series of specialist experiences planned by Ms Torres, who launched ExecAir when she was 24 and has arranged jet and helicopter trips for some of the biggest names in music, film and politics.

“The next focus is a helicopter day trip to Islay for whisky tasting.

“Over the past ten years I’ve focused on the highest standard in worldwide jet charter, I thought this would be the perfect bolt-on for inbound clients showcasing the dramatic [Scottish] scenery and local food as a whole experience,” she said.

The Heli-Dining combination has been requested so frequently over recent months that Ms Torres decided to launch it as a separate offer to her whole client base.

Ms Torres said that over the last decade, the cost of chartering has allowed private jets to become more accessible to a wider audience with ExecAir now working with UK wide outbound and global inbound clients.

“I’m a proud Scot, so it’s not hard for me to wax lyrical about the joy of seeing Scotland from the air and playing two of our best golf courses in one day, for example, thanks to helicopter transfers. The Americans in particular love this service.”
